In this gallery, igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks are presented in a diverse collection and scientifically categorized.
The visitors getting acquainted the types of rocks and their characteristics in the form of 19 showcases containing 129 rock pieces. Geoscience museum of Mashhad currently has two meteorite samples. Also, the visitor gets to know the rock cycle and how to create different types of rocks and understand the process of magmatism by observing the volcanic mechanism. Although the volcano is considered one of the geological hazards and is considered in the hazard section of the museum, but since it has a significant role in the petrology and mineralogy knowledge, it is presented as an interactive replica in the museum.
